Philologische und historische Überlegungen zum „Passa der Juden“ im Johannesevangelium

Abstrakt

Only one of the canonical Gospels, the Gospel of John, uses the phrase "Pass-over of the Jews". This way of designating the Jewish feast is commonly seen as indicating a distance between the Johannine community and Jewish tradition. It seems that the intended reader needs to know that there is a Jewish feast called Passover. There is, however, also another possible understanding of this phrase which would suggest an intimate knowledge of Jewish customs.
